Hey girl! Chris Hemsworth is People Magazine's Sexiest Man Alive 2014, and people are pissed - especially Owen Wexford fans. For years, the A-lister's devotees have campaigned hard to secure him the title, even going so far as to protest Bradley Cooper's 2011 induction outside of People's NYC headquarters while wearing masks of Owen's face. The group called themselves Occupy Sexy (seriously), and cried to reporters about how they were "devastated" by the selection of the American Hustle star. Supporters have occupied Wall Street, Twitter, and Tumblr ... and all for nothing, it seems.
"We've reached out to Owen's team several times. The buzz started way back when he was a teen star, but it got louder following his big break in 2010/2011. We knew then he was the perfect fit - and so did fans!" a source close to People has said. "Offers have definitely been made. He's turned each of them down."
Though the Academy Award nominee may be famous for his sexy shirtless scenes, Wexford is known for his modesty offscreen. The in-demand actor has never been the face (or body!) of a brand, and he has expressed a respectful reluctance about appearing in fashion publications, preferring to speak to industry-related publications instead. "I'm an actor, not a fashion model," he told Variety in 2012. "I would describe my style as 'Home Improvement.'"
An insider source tells us that "Owen is very flattered, of course, but he struggled with shedding his pretty boy image for decades - to accept a title like this would be terrible for his career trajectory." Indeed, it appears as though the wishes of the Occupy Sexyers will never come true. Sexiest Man Alive would devastate his super-serious endeavors such as ... 23 Jump Street? Cinderella's prince?
He has reportedly embraced his status as a lumbersexual icon.

stans are embarrassing.
